Confidence in God to provide salvation through Jesus Christ.
Rebellious people have consequences for their sin – Children of Israel were God's people (1 Corinthians 10:1-13)
All Laws were originated by God to the children of Israel to make reference to Jesus Christ
People of Moses day were God's people as much as today and in Corinthian's day. These things took place for example (1 Corinthians 10: 6-7)
Aaron leads the children of Israel into disobedience when Moses was up on the mountain getting the Law from God. (Exodus 32:1-5, Exodus 20:1-17)
What is the application for us as a Christian?
- For Corinthians it was quite literal they worshipped idols.
- For Israel they made the golden calf representative of God.
- For us some people today do worship idols (representative of Christian ideas) graven image; the same principle applies to us today as it did to them (Exodus 20:3)
- Don't be fooled you can mentally commit this sin today!
